This historic building housed the Tillinghast Seed Company, the oldest seed business in the Northwest, from 1890 until 2003. It was the center of farming activities in the county for many generations. The big beautiful Beech tree behind the building was planted in 1890! I have always loved this building and the surrounding farmland. The smell of the freshly plowed rish soil, the sweet, sweet smell of spinach seed blossoms and the fields after pea harvest are fragrances dear to my memory. Guess that’s the reason I decided that I had to open a restaurant here and needed to honor and promote our beautiful Skagit Valley, including the farmers and ranchers.
